Can any defensive warriors give me a setup of their stat/skill builds before adding the armor bonuses, so I can get some ideas of how I should make mine?

-Working on it -

Ok so this was an interesting build

Tank-

Str: 77 (Try and get 111 str through items)
Dex: 6
Endurance: 96
Energy: 3

10 Guardian Def
10 Large Pouch
10 Vengeful aura
10 Battle Standard
10 Heavy lifter
10 Fast Metabolism
10 Fairy Radiance
4 whirling blades

Ok so, your attack power will suck. But i did find something pretty fun with this type of build. When you use a hammer/axe that deals fire damage over time and push back, you will be able to use Whirling blades and do both DoT and Push. With Fairy on and your standard its actually quite nice. Again, the problem is that you will not be doing spike damage since you do not have crippling strike.

I have used this on key bosses:
whole Queen battle (legendary) - 10 potions used
Relden battle (legendary) - 13 potions used

Frozen tower (legendary) - 2 potions used. That was just on the boss lol. The mobs were no match for pushback.

Ok so this is your tank build. If you want to do more damage, switch out vengeful aura with crippling strike to spike.

NOTE: Tanked for a 4 man team. Was a decent build, if you dont mind running around in clrcles every now and then.

Oh and...HAHAH

I literally walked through all of the lower levels in heroic and killed everything there without attacking once or using a skill.

Why 10 Heavy Lifter? 5 is a no-brainer due to the allowance of wielding 2H weapons as 1H weapons, but if not for this single trait I wouldn't be putting a single point into it. I have never had any trouble equipping any gear that is designed for my class after about level 5 or so. So why spend 5 points to merely lower the STR requirement by a measly 15 points? Even if it was 150 points I don't see the point because STR requirements never prevent me from equipping anything.

well maxing heavy lifter could mean that you can put more points into dex or endurance, which would make this build survive better.

dex still adds to damage although not as much as str, but you get many other nice features from stating it. And End seems obvious on this build

This is for Tank purposes. Not Dps. READ THE TOPIC

Tank Build, not Dps. 15 points means more dodge, HP, def etc.

That is because you are a Str Warrior. this person asked for def warriors, not what you are making. Of course you would be ok with meeting the STR req.

I created a defensive warrior and saw this post. I gave this warrior build a shot and its great. Gear wise, I stacked HP Regen and Endurance. I also got two pieces of gear to raise my MP Regen to the point where I can almost always use Fairy Radiance with Spinning Charge. Having some MP regen lets you use Spinning Charge frequently. You can't use it all the time but frequently and with fire on your weapon, you do plenty of damage when you can't use Spinning Charge. I also made sure my axe heals me per kill. All of this combined makes you pretty much immortal against the game and do good damage. There were two other small changes though. Instead of trying to get my STR to 111, I tried to get it to 115. If you get it to 115, you can use the axe you get after killing the queen on legend mode. The other change I made was that I only put 4 points into Large Pouch. That lets you hold 22 potions which is more than enough. The max number of potions you can carry is 25 if you have 5 points in it but if you have more than 5 you can only hold a max of 25 potions. So, maxing it to 10 is a waste of a perfectly good 5 or 6 points. I put 4 points into it though so I can put 10 points into Spinning Charge. So in short, I really liked this build and thanks to it, my defense is very high and the suggestion of having an axe that does fire damage was a great idea but each player has their own playing style. Other than those three changes, its the same build. Thanks.

My previous post on September 22, 2012 is still mostly true but I have made a couple key changes. Instead of having 10 points in Heavy Lifter, I put 5 points in it and 5 points in Hardiness. 5 points in Hardiness is an additional 100 armor which is nice considering you are a tank. Also, instead of 10 points into Fairy Radiance, I put 10 points into Warcry. Whats nice about Warcry is that it increases your party members' damage and as a tank, its nice to help out the players doing most of the damage. Your role as tank is to be support and take most of the damage but not deal most of it. So, party members really appreciate the damage boost. You still keep the Battle Standard and Spinning Charge from my previous post.

This is important: The way I was able to have 5 points in Heavy Lifter and still hold my weapon and shield is that I switched the stats. So, instead of having 77 STR and 96 End, I had 96 STR and 77 End. I looked and looked again. Despite the switch in stats, all the important stats influenced by End and STR do not noticeably change. So, this is what I did and it seems effective. Your damage is still low but its better than it was and you are not sacrificing survivability. Enjoy. Smile
